I think on that engine the sensor and thermostat are built as a single combined thermostat housing. The easiest way to find the Thermostat housing is to follow the large, black coolant pipe that is coming out of the top of the radiator. follow it back towards the engine and the other end of the hose should be attached to the thermostat housing
Last year our 2010 C3 with the 1.4 vti engine started going to max temperature warning with the fan on all the time and I was going to replace the temperature sensor on the thermostat housing. However, our dealer said there was a recall on the vti engines due to faulty temp sensors and these were being replaced, paid for by Citroen.

First of all we open the bonnet of our car and we go to identify the temperature sensor, which we find at the bottom left of the battery; then disconnect the electrical connector, perhaps with the help of a flat screwdriver, and unhook the tab to remove our sensor, as shown in the video. I think it might be located on the plastic thermostat housing that is fixed onto the end of the cylinder head (right hand side of head if looking from front of car) Think the sensor is located at the rear of the housing and is secured in place with a horseshoe style clip, there will also be a rubber o ring to seal it aswell, probably best to change that aswell!
