No, instead you use barriers and guard to provide temporary health in combat. You can still make a mage that specializes in making strong barriers, if that's the playstyle you want. Bascally insted of healing damage your given ways to prevent it in the first place. Though its still stupid when npcs constantly talk about having mages heal people
These 3 mods allow you to play any combo of skills, utilities and items you ever wished to. Want to play a Greatsword wielding Rift Mage archer? Sure. Undead Summoning Shield and Dagger Tempest? But KE is literally a mage tank. I play on hard and as long as I keep an eye on vivienne she can literally keep up with tanking just as well as blackwall or casandra. Necromancy can do lots of aoe damage and combined with fire and burning spells you can watch there health melt away using this strat jus downed my first dragon.
